Sunset High School Media Center

Library Resources

Students use their student ID number to check out books, novels, textbooks, graphing calculators (limited) and Chromebooks from the SHS Media Center.  The typical checkout period for books is three weeks. Email reminders will be sent for overdue books. Lost items will be charged a full replacement cost.

Students have access to a wide variety of resources, databases, eBooks, and reference material on the HIGH SCHOOL LIBRARY RESOURCES page. Usernames and passwords are required for some of the resources for home access. Select the icon on the library resource page called "Passwords" for password information (BSD student account required to view).

Students use the Destiny Library Catalog on the Library Resource page to search for print, eBooks, and electronic items available at Sunset or place them on hold. eBooks can be read on student issued Chromebooks or personal devices using the Sora app.

The Media Center is open every school day from 7am - 4pm. There is an optional supervised HomeWork Club on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm where students may receive additional help with their coursework.
